Grandpa George's Cabin

Grandpa George's Cabin

This is a new pattern we finished in time for Spring Market. It was in the Diamond Textiles booth. I hope those of you that went to market got to see it.

We displayed this quilt at my dad's funeral because it reminded me so much of him. Geoff was so proud of this Grandpa George. He named the quilt pattern and there were many tears shed while the pattern was being written. Dad is where he needs to be with my mom and things here are gradually getting better.

I missed seeing all my friends at Market but as we all know family comes first during hard times. The new patterns have been listed on the website and there are more to come. I'm looking forward to my upcoming cruise with some fun quilting friends..
Olde Green Cupboard - Gloria and Vicki are so much fun!
Red Crinoline Quilts - Paula and Mary Ellen
Katie Puckett - rug hooking. Can't wait!

I will try to keep updating the blog. I can't tell you how much I love and appreciate all my friends and family right now. Thanks for all your kind words and prayers. I haven't felt much like sewing lately but I know that will return soon. Quilting always gets me through tough times. Keep those comments coming. I can't tell you how they all make me smile!!!!

Since I am not going to Market I thought I would show you one of the many quilts I was planning on taking.

I had a picture of this quilt in a previous post but the pattern wasn't ready. Geoff finished the pattern and it is on the website. I wanted to give this pattern to: quilter who said:

I would love to have one of the patterns! I am a Longmire fan! Sorry to read that you have shingles, I know from experience that shingles are no fun...hope your readers will heed your warning and get the vaccine, even is your insurance won't pay for it.

Gloria I want to thank all you of for your wonderful comments and prayers during this hard time. I will sure miss Market but as I said previously my time right now needs to be with my family and especially my Geoff. Have a great day make sure to give a hug to those you love!

We are so SAD

We lost a great man.   My dad! It is never a good time but I am so happy he went fast. Dad was one of the most generous men I know.  I was teaching at Rosie's Calico Cupboard when I got a call from Geoff who found his grandpa dead of a heart attack.
Life is short.  Enjoy those you love.  Dad was so healthy we would never have imagined he would die so fast, but he was 88 years old. Our lives will never be quite the same.  But we loved him with all our hearts and he knew it!

My market plans have changed.  There is too much here for me to do. I won't be able to make it. I will miss seeing all my friends, but family needs me now.

Love you quilting friends! Thanks for following my blog.  Stay tuned.  Lots of new patterns coming your way.
