Coming Soon to a Quilt Shop Near You

Geoff is in the process of writing the pattern for Rustic Star.   I named this quilt Rustic Star because I was with my girlfriends quilting and one of the husbands came over to me and said "Hey, I know that quilt.  My wife just made it." And I thought "Really? I just designed it."  But I thought it so dear that "Rusty" thought his wife was so talented that she had already made the quilt even though it hadn't left my design wall. Kim and Rusty are two wonderful people. He is so proud of her quilting. Men.  At least they "try" to pay attention to what we make.

Life is good here at Geoff's Mom house. I leave next week to teach at the San Diego Quilt Show. I am so excited to meet new quilters. Teaching is a passion of mine and I always enjoy meeting new friends all around the country.

Keep leaving those comments coming friends. The giveaway will be here soon!!!

Giveaway Time!

This is a wonderful book from Kathy at Cardiff Farms. I love the pin cushions in this book. Kathy is so talented! It was fun to meet her at Market. I bought a couple of these books so I could give one away. The wool projects as well as the pieced quilts on her website are unique and so appealing.

This is my Yard Bird sewing kit. The inside is as cute as the outside. You will have to trust me on that!

Fly Me Away. Many of you know I work for United Airlines and love to travel. The "Flying Geese" block (should that be goose block?) is one of my favorites. Speaking of travel tomorrow I am taking Dad to Colorado to see his family. Dad is 87 and he is so dang cute. He is excited to see his family and friends there.

Many of you will recognize this pattern: "It's A Grand Old Flag".

Please post your comments here. Geoff and I will pull a winner on Sep 2.
Tell your friends and family to post. I enjoy all the comments and it is always fun to give things away!

I'm Back

Hi friends. I had such a great time. What a celebration.

It was Vic and Rosie's 50th Wedding Anniversary party and the fun and cocktails were flowing.

Here is a picture of Rosie and Vic and their children. They are amazing people and very giving to the community and their friends. Sure do love those friends.

I visited The Country Loft in La Mesa. I always enjoy seeing their shop and they always have great classes and projects going. My pocketbook loves to go there.

I promised I would show you the pictures of the "eclairs and cream puffs". They are truly a "work of art". I have never seen a dessert that big. I can't even describe how fantastic they taste. You will just have to take my word for it.

Here is the beach.

I could hardly wait to get my toes in the sand.

Here is Michelle. She is always so much fun. I visited her shop in Vista, CA, and she is planning on a teaching event. Watch for the details in the near future.

In The Garden This Morning

I just thought I would show you a couple of quick pictures this morning.

The tree house was unique.   Kym, my photographer, could slide down the fireman's pole to get out of the tree house.  We took lots of great pictures and I can't wait for you to see them.   More excitement coming up.   Tomorrow I leave for San Diego to visit great friends and celebrate with Vic and Rosie Gonzales (Rosie's Calico Cupboard).   It is their 50th Wedding Anniversary.  Also there is the BEST place to get eclairs.
