"Welcome My Friends" Giveaway

I love sewing lots of small pieces together. I am working on the appliqued border and watching the Olympics and Longmire. Oh I think I am smitten with Sheriff Longmire. Have any of you seen that show? It is on Netflix and I have thoroughly enjoyed watching it. I even ordered the series for my dad on dvd. I think he will enjoy it.

I started writing the pattern for this table topper today. it will be called "Welcome My Friends". I came down with the shingles again a few weeks ago so I have had lots of resting time. I got right on the meds and I am doing so much better.
Would you like to win the 1st published pattern of this newest design? Please leave a comment. I am not sure when it will be published. Geoff is in the process of writing two other patterns. It is next in line after that. That will give you some time for commenting. I am hopeful that it will be finished by Mar 15, 2014. I am off to have a date with Sheriff Longmire? Oh wait. The Bachelor is on tonight. I'd better check it out.

Take care friends!
P.S. Get a shingles shot if you haven't had one.

Love this Product!

I designed this new pillow top and my girlfriend Louise needed a hand stitching project for a trip so of course I am always wanting to share my stitching with friends. This arrived all stitched in the mail yesterday! The top was a bit too bright for my taste so I got out my "Instant Antique" from Primitive Gatherings. I sprayed the bright places and it looks so much better. I have used this product on several of my projects and it sure gives it the worn and loved feeling! Don't be afraid to spray it darker than you think is needed because it does dry lighter. Sometimes you will apply a few coats to make it just the "loved" look you want.

Here is a picture of the bottle... make sure to order some from Primitive Gatherings!
Today I am going to add a few Colonial Knots to the Sunflowers, trip up the edges and stitch this up into a pillow.
Have a great day!

I love this giveaway! Thank you so much for this opportunity! In fact, I love all your patterns! As far as my rotary cutter, I change that when it starts skipping, I usually try to sharpen it on my rotary sharpener first, otherwise I use it to cut wrapping paper or works wonders on freezer paper for applique or stenciling. As far as my needle, I, like most, will change it every few projects, depending on how extensive they are, if it is just a mug mat or a table runner or something like that maybe let it go a bit longer.
Jodi please send me your address so I can get a pattern in the mail to you.
Here is a picture of the my newest table topper:
"Love Bunny Hops"
It will be off to the quilter in a few days.
I am working on a great new scrap quilt with appliqued borders. Do you ever have those fabric scraps that just sing to you? I have several and sometimes it is so hard to cut into them because I'm afraid I might run out of it? I know this is silly but I get so attached to some pieces? I have a green fabric and I am not even sure of the designer or when I purchased it... I have been using it on the border for the new quilt I am working on and I have cut out a few leaves but I only have about an 8 inch square piece left and I think I might seriously have a problem. I can't bear to use it all up.
I am a scrap addict! OMG.. do I need an intervention?
Well I'm off to do a little more applique today!
Enjoy your stitching time or whatever you have planned for the day!

Questions Questions Questions Giveaways!

I'm working on a new quilt.
I have so many things going at the same time it keeps me getting bored with one project.
 Do you do that?
I like to have applique ready to stitch while watching television.
Last night while cutting pieces for the blocks I'm working on I was thinking about asking my quilting friends... How OFTEN do you change the blade on your rotary cutter? Sometimes I let mine get so dull I am sawing the fabric, which is so crazy. When I change it I can hardly believe how it cuts like a hot knife through butter and wonder why I wait so dang long to change the blade. I find if my cutting mat has ridges in it the blade will skip and that makes it frustrating as well, a couple of my mats are ready to go to the trash.
Another question I have is How OFTEN do you change the needle on your sewing machine.. I have a friend who changes her needle every 4th bobbin. I don't keep track of my bobbins so I am not sure of the bobbin count but I like to change my needle after every two to three projects depending on the size of the project (does that make sense?).
Leave your comments and I will giveaway my latest pattern of "Land That I Love" to the lucky winner on Feb. 10.
Don't forget to comment on my previous post to win "Circle Of Spring" pattern which I will draw that winner on Feb. 7.
Thanks for stopping by...
Have a great day!
