Stars All Around

This is a quick, easy table runner you will have time to get finished before Christmas if you hurry! Norma has designed and hand quilted (Yep! HAND quilted while watching sports with Bruce). Geoff is in the process of writing the pattern. It should be done this weekend.

Have you stopped over to the Make-It-Do blog to put in a comment for our book? If not you have today left to do so. Otherwise you might miss out!
I am going to work at my "real" job tonight for United Airlines and I heard the computers have been down today so hopefully it won't be too stressful because I would love to get a little stitching done between calls. (I bet you would like my job. lol) I love my job. I make international airline reservations from my home in my jammies! Have a good rest of the day. Thanks for stopping by.

A Promise is A Promise

Ok... Here I am on the bull. As you can see it was fun but... boy I had no idea how much fun! I didn't want to fall off. I rode the bull the first night of Market and I sure as heck didn't want to hurt myself. Norma was in a skirt or she would have been riding too. Moda had a fun dinner and they provided the entertainment.

Here I am screaming.. notice no tonsils. Ha Ha!

Now here we are quite respectable girls! This is our booth. It was a good Fall Market. I heard the attendance was down quite a bit due to hurricane "Sandy". We loved launching our book and it has had great response. Thanks so much for all your support!

The WINNER is: May Britt..... please email your address and we will get one in the mail asap.

We are BACK!

Hi friends!
We are back from Market and had a wonderful time! I even got to ride the "Bull". Wow! I bet you are wondering what the heck? Ha ha! My girlfriend has the pictures so we will get them on the blog as soon as we can. We found an error in one of our patterns. Yikes! I hate perfection. Just shows we are certainly NOT perfect by any means. If you have purchased "It's A Grand Old Flag" the borders are cut 6-1/2". We are trying to send corrections out asap. Let us know if you need a correction. OK?

Life is so dang busy and we are so dang HAPPY! I will post tomorrow with the winner of the book!

Have a great day!

Simpler Days!

Simpler Days

Penny's Posies
We pack up the truck on Saturday and start our drive to Houston on Monday. I can hardly wait. Norma is the "truck driver" on the road and I am the "truck driver" in town. We have such a fun time. We usually take a friend or two with us to help. We stop along the way to visit the wonderful quilt shops. We leave Salt Lake early so we have plenty of time to shop along the way. I will try and do some blogging on our trip, but no promises!
Keep your comments coming friends. We are keeping track for our giveaway.

Busy Getting Ready!

Norma and I have been "nuts" trying to get ready for Fall Quilt Market. Norma has made this great new small quilt called "Star Garden" Don't you love it??? I have two more quilts in the works. Actually one is at the quilters and the other is at the photographer. Nothing like last minute details. Geoff has been busy with patterns. He has been putting a QR code on the back of all the new patterns so that if you have a "smart" phone you can scan the pattern and it will take you right to our website for purchase. Wow, he is a smart kid! I am so blessed to have him. He is my techie. I stayed up til' midnight last night starting a new applique project... want a peek? Let us know what you think.

We are considering having another giveaway after we get back from Market. Leave us a comment and we will draw for a new book on Nov. 1.

Life is busy and we are happy and truly blessed. Take care friends!

We are on our Market count down!

This is a small wall hanging I finished for my kitchen. I love, love, love Chickens! The name of the pattern is going to be "Just Sittin". I believe that is what she is doing.. just sittin.

Rosie's Quilt
This quilt was designed for my friend Rosie Gonzalez. I went to stay at her home for a visit and the bed I slept in had this wonderful antique quilt. I loved the pattern so much I had to figure out how to make the quilt. Rosie is the owner of “Rosie’s Calico Cupboard” in San Diego. It is one of my all-time favorite shops.

Click on each image to view more details about these patterns.

Norma and I have been busy! We both love Nine Patches so much. Norma has worked so hard to get this dream to become a reality. What a great partner. I am so lucky! This will be available to the quilt shops at Fall Market. We have published the book ourselves and we know you will love it. The book will have 10 projects in it. Can't wait to get your comments. Hope you like it as much as we do!

Madeline's Quilt

Norma just finished this quilt and is making a wonderful bolster pillow to go with it. Don't you love the grey and yellow? Wow I think this quilt looks so "old" which is what we like! I will get a picture of the pillow when it is finished. We are working on a new business project. Geoff will probably kill us because it will be taking quite a bit of his time, but hey, what are kids for? Make it a good day!

She's a Grand Old Flag!

Hi friends! Well. I have been getting a few things done around here. Finally! I wanted to show you a new pattern we are currently writing. Life here has been so busy and it has caught up with me. I now have Shingles. Yuck! I am telling you all so you will go get your vaccine! Stress isn't good! Norma diagnosed me and took me straight to the doctor. It is so nice to have a quilting partner who is a RN. I hadn't been feeling too well and my left side was killing me. Then I started getting "hives" so I thought. Well I am down now for a few weeks so I am appliqueing on a new project between my naps. Hope all is will with you friends. Take care and get a vaccine! Hugs. Joyce

Loch Lomond

This is Loch Lomond in Scotland. When I was a little girl my grandma would sing about this wonderful place. I have a fantastic Scottish heritage! Norma and I visited Scotland and went to Stirling Castle where my great-great grandfather was a coachman.

After returning from Scotland I wanted to make a quilt that reminded me of the beautiful country side with the wildflowers and all different shade of green.

Welcome

I can't keep up with Norma. She has designed this cute picture to welcome in spring. I watch outside my window to see the robins looking for tidbits of grass and such to build nests. This picture is a wonderful wool piece that looks great on any wall.
Have a great Spring day my friends!

Second Time Around

Don't you love this new quilt? It is so scrappy and you can't believe the fabrics. We now have Geoff writing our patterns and he is doing a great job! He can hardly believe what he has to do for his mom and her friend! He has done all our pattern covers so I thought, well, he might as well be doing the writing too. I am so lucky. Have a nice day friends!

Guess where we have been?

This was heaven for us. Norma and I attended the American Quilting retreat/ It was so much fun!
We had 4 days of sewing, teaching, learning and laughing! We are amazed and all the talented women. We love to teach classes because we come away learning more than I am sure we taught.

This was the "free" quilt kit given to each one of us in attendance. Can you believe it? We also received charm bracelets. I will try and get a picture of it and a cute spool and pin cushion holder shaped like a Ferris Wheel.

Thank you so much Amy and our friends at American Quilting!
